About Molly

My name is Molly Greaves and I live in Austin, Texas. Been here for almost 4 years and just loving it.

One winter during grad school in Pennsylvania, I got sick of the hassles of winter. To the point where I didn’t ever want to deal with it ever again! So, I saved up money, did some research and about 6 months later, I moved to Texas.

When I moved to Texas, I didn’t know anyone in the whole state, and had never been to here before!  I saved up some cash, gave my notice, sold all of my possessions, and hoped for the best. Luckily for me, everything  has been working out great, and I couldn’t be happier.

I recently saved up to take a year off so I can learn real estate investing, and am now doing ALL things real estate related (note buying, foreclosures, wrap arounds, hard money lending and fundraising, loan brokering, etc). I grew up in rural Vermont where I would come home from college and watch everyone work so hard, yet never be ahead, and I’d see this year after year.

Although patriotic and optimistic, everyone always seemed sad and tired. I decided that I never wanted that to happen to me. That’s when I started studying and learning all about money. I knew I needed to learn to control it before it controlled me, and I needed to learn how to make my money work for me while I’m hanging out with my friends BBQing.  That was 8 years ago.

During that time, I’ve studied millionaires and billionaires to see what they have that the working class, including myself, doesn’t. I learned that most of them have the drive that is needed, and the rest can easily be learned by anyone. So, I realized that they aren’t any smarter than me, and that there isn’t any reason I can’t do what they do.

I also learned that these people get wealthy from 3 ways:

·      inheritance

·      technology

·      real estate

So, I decided I’d learn real estate.

My family, like many families, is working with the hopes of retiring at all, let alone pass inheritance down. So, I know that’s out of the question for me!!  Plus, I’d grown up with parents who did several flips, rehabs, land acquisitions, etc. (WHEN THEY WERE MARRIED), plus, my dad owned a construction company, so I guess it’s always been in my blood, and I’ve always followed it.

  1. Funny that you consider yourself a nerd. I’m not sure I’d classify you as a nerd. You have excellent people skills and nerds typically are very quiet, stay to themselves and just focus on absorbing new information. Rather then you being a “nerd,” I think a more accurate description of you would be “intelligently curious.”

  2. Your family must be very proud of you!!
