From the FAMED PUBLIC MARKET:

 Bon appetite!   Harry From TheHendersons!

I love to check out college campuses when I’m traveling. I’ve been to schools from Hawaii and Washington state to Montreal and Europe. It’s a blast. Here’s the University of Washington in Seattle.

Flying into Seattle is just beautiful, especially in the winter!

Funny Talking Cat Named OILCAN.

Posted on July 6, 2008. Filed under: -- What MOLLY's Up To | Tags: , , |

By Molly Greaves

This is the sweetest, most neglected cat ever. The “owner” has a tag on her with the name OILCAN. Awful. So, I just love the heck out of this sweet cat. I gave her a bath, which turned out to be a piece of cake,  and I brush her all of the time. She’s looking so beautiful these days.

She’s a talker so we have nice conversations in the mornings when I’m working on my porch. I let her in my place too, and she loves this one corner of my rug, and eats by feeding herself with her hands often times. It’s very funny.

I always say “Oilcan CAN and OILCAN Does” to mess around with her. I also tell her she’s just like a beautiful princess. My friend’s think it’s cheesy, especially when I sing to her.

Man, I cant wait to get a dog!

Dell MVP Award? Make Sure You Bring Your Wallet To Your Awards Ceremony If You Want A Drink

This is me accepting my MVP award at a special Dell banquet. I don’t generally wear all black like this to work, but I was running late, so that’s what I ended up wearing.  I found this banquet to be really funny in the sense that Dell was honoring all of these distinguished people, that have generated A LOT of money for the company, and they still had a cash bar. Hahahaha.

I generated the most revenue in my business segment over the entire quarter–my first quarter ever in sales– so I showed up cashless, assuming Dell would at least buy me a drink, but I was completely wrong.

So wrong in fact, that I had to have some other MVP at my table buy me my drink. I paid him back at work via our internal mail system; luckily the guy thought it was as funny as I did.

AIRPLANE RIDES? A BULLDOZER That Fell Through The Only One Lane Bridge In Costa Rica… Are You Serious?

Posted on July 6, 2008. Filed under: -- Uncategorized, -- What MOLLY's Up To | Tags: , , |

By Molly Greaves

This is one of the funniest signs I’ve ever seen. It’s sort of hard to see here, but it says AIRPLANE RIDES, and it’s this place in the middle of NOWHERE in Costa Rica that has about 5 junker cars on the lot, chickens running around everywhere, that offers airplane rides. Matt and I thought that was the funniest thing we’d ever seen.  Looked like you definitely might go up, but who knows about how you’d come down.

Here’s the school 5 miles down…I wonder if they worry about “No Child Left Behind” I doubt it.

Even funnier than this though, it that Costa Rica doesn’t have “real” bridges. What I mean is everything is one-lane, and the bridges are also VERY narrow. Most were EXTREMELY nerve-racking to drive across, and one day when cruising to a different town, we got stuck there because a BULLDOZER type thing FELL THROUGH the bridge, causing us to have been backed up FOR HOURS. We waited in this really long line of traffic for probably almost 6 hours. Yep, 6 hours for tons of people to stand around wondering what in the heck they were going to do. We were STARVING and totally annoyed, but the local Ticos seemed to act like it was the norm.  I guess that’s a great example of what being on Tico Time means.

Talk about FRUSTRATING! We wanted to be on the beach or off drinking Margaritas!

And here is what the police station looks like there…for some reason, they never even showed up to the 6 hour debacle. We figured they were stuck somewhere else too.

Welcome To TEXAS…Driving IN From Louisiana

Posted on July 6, 2008. Filed under: -- What MOLLY's Up To | Tags: , , , , , |

On my first road trip back home to Austin from New Orleans, I noticed this welcome sign into Texas. Before coming to Texas, I wasn’t a George Bush fan but now having lived in Texas for more than 3 years, I am now. Either way, I thought I’d share the welcome sign with you.  I like how the welcome sign is followed by a nice BIG Texas Lonestar. That’s very Texas-like as well.

Ankles Of A Lifetime. What A Sun Tan!

Posted on July 6, 2008. Filed under: -- Uncategorized, -- What MOLLY's Up To | Tags: , , |

I followed directly behind THESE ANKLES on my way back from swimming in the falls in order to get back to my car. The man not only had quite the ankles, he also had quite the smoking problem too! We were climbing this STEEP hill with narrow stairs and he was starting and stopping the whole just to stay in sync with his cigarette. He was completely out of breath and huffing and puffing, but certainly wasn’t even thinking about putting his cigarette out. Funny man; funny walk I had.

Most DISGUSTING Car Interior EVER…Warning, DO NOT Go On A Date With This Car Owner!

I went to pick my friend up at Apple one day here in Austin, and I was hanging outside of my car waiting for her, soaking in the sun and some Vitamin D, and noticed this car next to me. I couldn’t even believe my eyes. I had to grab my camera to actually believe my eyes. I’m quite a neat/clean “freak” so I still have a hard time believing it’s real. My friend Alisha couldn’t believe it either. We laughed about that “guy” the rest of the day, and I still do when I am reminded with this silly picture. I captured the license plate as a warning to women and men out there to be on the look out for this person.

Nothing Like Recycled Bananas In Costa Rica! Funny Squirrel, Happy Raccoons…

This was so cute to come across while out on a hike in Costa Rica. Costa Ricans apparently feed the wildlife bananas by latching them on to these nail type things they put in the trees…It was Good Thinkin’ Lincoln.
