Jimmy Carter first declared Grandparents Day a national holiday in 1978. National Grandparents Day is celebrated on the first Sunday of the month after Labor Day, annually. That means this year the holiday will be celebrated, today, on Sunday, September 11. Happy Grandparents Day. Hope it’s a safe one.
